Judge lets couple’s arranged-marriage dowry serve as prenup


A Staten Island judge is letting an arranged-marriage dowry stand as a virtual prenup — saying the measly $20,000 a Brookdale Hospital oncologist agreed to pay to his Egyptian-born wife is all she gets in their divorce.

Michael Stutman, head of family law at Mishcon de Reya who is not associated with the case, said the ruling is “underscores how dangerous prenuptial agreements are.”
